Hi Miroslaw, your post is something like "I want to do <a-certain-something>. How to get there?" and so more appropriate for the user list. This is the _bug_-list and you don't even report one. Btw, _if_ you found a bug a tiny example is _needed_.
That said, there is no real builtin method for your wish, so you will need a workaround. I received solution: using overriding of self-alignment-X: > left-aligned = { \once \override LyricText.self-alignment-X = #LEFT } > center-aligned = { \once \override LyricText.self-alignment-X = #CENTER } > right-aligned = { \once \override LyricText.self-alignment-X = #1 } Using self-alignment-X _is_ one of the possible work-arounds. Note, a) every number is possible (in general) b) one could write a function to let the original syllable in place, even if something is added. Ask on -user, I'll not have the time to code before next year, though. > 5. It is not a point I did mean. When an asterisk (*) is put after a > syllable, it is centered by default. That implies that main part of > syllable is not centered. The point is: adding an asterisk should not > move syllable, Well, that's your demand and not a common use-case, as far as I know. > a print has to be the same after adding the asterisk — > not move left. So the solution (4. as above) with overriding of > self-alignment-X to left — is not perfect. Other possibilities: (1) http://lsr.di.unimi.it/LSR/Item?id=888 (2) Or perhaps: << \new Voice = "v" \relative c'' { c c c c \break d d d d } \new Lyrics \lyricsto "v" { \override Lyrics.StanzaNumber.direction = #1 foo foo foo \set stanza = "*" foo bar bar bar \set stanza = "*" bar } >> Final concluion: no bug Cheers, Harm _______________________________________________ bug-lilypond mailing list bug-lilypond@gnu.org https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-lilypond
