There are four types of arpeggios -- normal (no arrow), arrow up, arrow down, and bracket. Prior to the 2008 change, \ArpeggioUp and \ArpeggioDown were reverted with \ArpeggioNeutral, which makes sense. But \ArpeggioBracket was also reverted with \ArpeggioNeutral, which doesn't make sense. After the 2008 change, \ArpeggioNormal produces un-arrowed arpeggios. \ArpeggioArrowUp produces up-arrowed arpeggios. \ArpeggioArrowDown produces down-arrowed arpeggios. \ArpeggioBracket produces bracket arpeggios. All of the special arpeggios are reverted by \ArpeggioNormal. If there were no \ArpeggioBracket, \ArpeggioUp, \ArpeggioDown, and \ArpeggioNeutral would make a nice set. But \ArpeggioBracket <-> \ArpeggioNeutral is awkward. If the decision is made to revert the change, it won't bother me. But I think it's important to remember the effect on \ArpeggioBracket.
