One other comment. Please try running with BSD make, not GNU make - because of its importance in bootstrapping a GNU system, M4 strives to provide a makefile that is compatible to other makes, but we need people to actually use these other makes to find any bug reports and provide or test any workarounds. - -- Life is short - so eat dessert first!
