Thanks for the report. However, you've truncated it; the actual failure occurred somewhere in lines before what you pasted, and without seeing the actual error, we cannot diagnose whether it is a known issue or something new. It is already known that we need a new m4 release (it's been a couple years since I last put time into doing one of those, and gnulib has some improvements that I need to incorporate); but since m4 is overall a stable code base, it hasn't yet risen to the top of my TODO list to put the time into making that release. -- Eric Blake, Principal Software Engineer Red Hat, Inc.
