However in the man pages of linux it is said:

"The fseeko and ftello functions conform to SUSv2"

and in the man page of freebsd:

The fseeko() and ftello() functions conform to IEEE Std 1003.1-2001
(``POSIX.1'')
 
Couldn' t we say that this is portable enough?
