I've read the rsyslogd and rsyslog.conf man pages, I installed and read the html docs, I went to the rsyslog web site and wiki, and nowhere did I see an explanation. But my default rsyslog.conf had a couple of lines without the '-' , so apparently it differentiates somehow, but I can't figure it out. # # Logging for the mail system. Split it up so that # it is easy to write scripts to parse these files. # mail.debug -/var/log/mail.info mail.warn -/var/log/mail.warn mail.err /var/log/mail.err It seems unnecessarily complex unless it means something -- but where can I find an explanation? All those files are there an get written to, so WTF? ;) Very puzzled, Chris _______________________________________________ Bug-mailutils mailing list [email protected] https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-mailutils
