Everything succeeds with gcc 4.7.2. Has anyone else tried to build with gcc 4.8? I'm using the NixOS Linux distribution, which is a bit obscure, but since the build works with gcc 4.7 and doesn't work with gcc 4.8, I am guessing the problem is with gcc and/or mailutils. If you like, I can try to set up gcc 4.8 on my Debian computer and build mailutils there.
