After I installed mailutils-imap4d and configured Thunderbird for
localhost mailserver, I noticed that Thunderbird started to work very
slowly.
Later I noticed that it shows all folders of my home directory
/home/USER as subfolders of the localhost IMAP server.
That behavior is bizarre, not only because it slows down Thunderbird,
but mainly because this opens several kinds of security risks:
- Deleting folders in /home/USER by incident (I really started to delete
them, not understanding that I am deleting actual /home/USER files!)
- Undesired reveal of directory structure in screenshots
- Probably others
The second item is really bad.
Probably, the same concern is for mailutils-pop3d package.
