It seems that the variable CURDIR does not work on solaris, making it impossible to use it as inside recursive makefiles (as it keeps the same value even if make is invoked with -C
This is make-3.80 on solaris 8 , I have tried to recompile with various compilers: Sun 4.2 Sun 6U2 Gcc 2.95
The make package available on sunfreeware also exhibits this behavior.
