Update of bug #25190 (project make): Status: None => Not A Bug Open/Closed: Open => Closed
_______________________________________________________ Follow-up Comment #2: This is not a bug. See the GNU make manual, section "Defining Variables Verbatim", where it says: The value in an ordinary assignment cannot contain a newline; but the newlines that separate the lines of the value in a `define' become part of the variable's value (_except for the final newline which precedes the `endef' and is not considered part of the value_). Note the final parenthetical comment (highlight added). _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?25190> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/ _______________________________________________ Bug-make mailing list Bug-make@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-make
