Follow-up Comment #1, bug #13661 (project mdk):
The problem is most probably caused by an missing linker flag, so
that libguile fails to find the even handlers at runtime.
Try the attached patch, which works fine for me.
After applying the patch:
make distclean
./autogen.sh
./configure
make
cheers
