*Bug Description: *I was trying to use the timeout feature in readline to call the function assigned to *rl_event_hook* function pointer after a specified amount of time period expires in absense of any activity on the terminal. The time out was specified using the function *rl_set_keyboard_input_timeout(). * But on doing this the function was being called on each and every event like any key press, along with the call on the timeout. What I wanted to do was to make it call a function if no activity is observed for a specified amount of time. *Possible Bug(if it is)* : the problem seems to be present in the *rl_read_key. *I have thought of a solution and would be pleased to share the same, but only if this comes out be a valid bug, because it can be a case of my misunderstanding. * *Regards, Anant Shankar
