Thank you Paul. Just a question here. (could be silly): Where can be get the free licensed copy of Tar.exe which we can use. We are not building the Tar.exe here. It would be great if you can let us know the location where we can get the latest Tar.exe with this fix.
Very much appreciate your response, Thanks Vijeya -----Original Message----- From: Paul Eggert [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, May 03, 2007 10:18 PM To: Vijeya Aravindan Anbalagan -X (vanbalag - WIPRO at Cisco) Cc: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Bug-tar] RE: Regarding the limitation of Tar.exe to tar a file greater than 1.99 GB "Vijeya Aravindan Anbalagan -X \(vanbalag - WIPRO at Cisco\)" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> writes: > We are facing problems when we have a file of greater than 2.0 GB in > the directory which we are trying to TAR. This was fixed many years ago in the 'tar' sources. Perhaps your 'tar' executable is ancient; or perhaps it wasn't built properly; or perhaps you are running an ancient O.S. In any case, you should contact whoever built your 'tar' (it wasn't us).
