It looks like the GNU format is just not working for me. I've looked for defaults in tar, it shows
--format=gnu -f- -b20 --quoting-style=escape --rmt-command=/usr/local/libexec/rmt --rsh-command=/usr/bin/rsh So definitelly there is problem with GNU format itself. Not only with big files but also with file names - I am getting message about 99 characters limitation. Quite strange isn't it? Either way I'am gonna try good old posix… Regards, Pavel Bocek
