Not all tar programs support old options

Hello.

In the tar manual we can read:
http://www.gnu.org/software/tar/manual/html_node/Old-Options.html

"As far as we know, all tar programs, GNU and non-GNU, support old options".

FWIW, there is at least one non-GNU tar program which does not (and does not 
plan to) support old options.
