The following extract of the project should make clear where the
problems are
(It's part of a portuguese translation, frensh can produce the same
problems). As you can see there is the need for
cedilla and accents etc. in node names, usual Text and index entries.

IMHO it is need to be able to write accents, cedilla etc. into node
names, cause if Texinfo is converted into HTML it's coming into visible
area. The Node- names are shown in menus and references etc.
