Never mind. I've added that option in 'emerge', where it calls install-info, and now 'info gettext' opens the main node of Gettext again. The main dir shown by 'info' looks its old messy self again too, so alphabetization is good -- with the exception that the enormous list of libc's functions and macros had better come last. Benno
