Sorry, yes, of course, info-stnd is the doc of the info program.
Mixed it with the documentation of info format. Uffa.
Actually, info.texi is mostly a tutorial on using Info readers --
applicable to both readers. It's not at all about documenting Info
format (Patrice and I wrote that for the first time in Texinfo 5, and it
is an appendix in the Texinfo manual).
info-stnd, by comparison, is mostly a terse reference. Almost all of it
is redundant with info.texi and thus probably should not exist, but I
haven't seen the need to touch it since Brian wrote it many years ago.
