To see what I mean, run 'info/ginfo info xref'. Then press and hold M-F. Hold it down until the cursor has passed into the next node. Then press and hold M-B. The cursor stops at the top of the node, on the "N" of "Next". Now type <Left>. Nothing happens. Type <Left> again. Now the cursor moves to the preceding node.
Now press <Right>. The cursor moves to node 8.1 again. Press <Right> again. The cursor does not move. Press <Right> again. Now the cursor does move. Now press <Left> several times. The cursor does not "stick" on the "N" of "Next", it moves smoothly over the boundary. Now press <Right> again several times. Again the cursor "sticks" for one moment on the "N". Now press <Right> until the cursor has passed the "N" of "Next", it doesn't matter how far. Then press <Left> until the cursor is exactly on the "N". Now press M-B. Now the cursor *does* pass over the node boundary. There seems to be a "hole" at each node boundary that the cursor can "fall into" and get stuck.
