I didn't have time to build anything after Texinfo 7.1 (neither 7.1.1 nor the current release/7.1 branch). In 7.1, the split_nocopying_split_dev_null test did not fail for me, so if it haven't changed since then, and if Texinfo didn't change anything that is related to what the test tests, it should not fail now.
