That is sad to hear. It is quite clear to me that C++ is a much more suited
implementation language than C, at least for texinfo. (I have written and
maintained a lot of code in both. For what it's worth, gcc was converted
to a C++ implementation some time ago, not sure when.)
Perhaps it is appropriate to use a "legacy" programming language to implement
a "legacy" documentation language ...
