As Collin says, it may be due to leftover files in your build tree. You
could also try "make distclean" to remove leftover files.
I had another tree on a different machine that fails in the same way.
For the record, doing a “make distclean” also cleared up the issue, and
that’s easy to remember for the future if I run into similar issues again.
