a bug of sort ver2.0 ?

Hi,

  I found some differences between listings resulting from
  GNU sort ver 1.22 and 2.0 on the 5-line text file:

$b a e
#c b a
%a e d
"d c b
!e d c

sort ver 1.22 gives

!e d c
"d c b
#c b a
$b a e
%a e d

while ver 2.0 gives

%a e d
$b a e
#c b a
"d c b
!e d c

   Actually, ASCII value: ! < " < # < $ < %
   Is this a bug for sort ver 2.0?
