On Redhat linux 6.2, kernel 2.2.16, the program 'tail' from package
textutils-2.0a-2 dumps core when asked to do this:
$ tail -f /
tail: /: Is a directory
tail: tail.c:718: recheck: Assertion `valid_file_spec (f)' failed.
Aborted (core dumped)
I did not type the above command intentionally - it was an accident,
but seems to have revealed a hidden bug somewhere.
Do you need any more information from me?
