Follow-up Comment #1, bug #40571 (project xboard):
I happened to look at the xboard-bug mailing list (I'm not a subscriber) and
saw that there was a small thread about this in which someone noted that is
was strange that I had a maximise button. I'm using XFCE 4.10 (with the
default WM), if that helps.
Btw, I don't like windows that disallow resizing and/or maximising. Especially
with a chess program, I think it should be possible to maximise it so as to
hide all other desktop distractions while concentrating on the game.
