H.G.'s comment on this from the email thread:
"That an engine is crashing is never the fault of XBoard.
It just means the engine is buggy or incorrectly installed."
Obviously that's true. However, I'm not entirely clear on what happened from
the discussion -- does the GTK warning come from XBoard or the engine? -- but
I don't know how to repro this and try it myself. So I'm closing it.
