can you please run those tests a couple of times and check if the opps backtrace
is always the same? If yes, then it sounds more or less easy to fix. If it
crashes all over the place, then it could be about anything :(

Also, please compare with large NAND read/write tests, and with read/write tests
on NFS. We need to basically find some way how to determine if this is

1) something generic about block read/write
2) something specific to SD or NAND hardware [drivers]
3) some generic issue about data corruption or system instability

Yes, gsmd runs on the GTA01Bv3 without any problems. Please refer to
http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/Manually_using_GSM
http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/Manually_using_GSM#Using_gsmd
http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/gsmd

Please make sure you use the most recent kernel and rootfs from
http://buildhost.openmoko.org/tmp/deploy/images/?C=M;O=D

As for the error reporting: I have read through the libgsmd code, and I cannot
find any occasion where proper error handling has not been implemented.

Can you please give an example where you do not get an error code from libgsmd?

Well, headphone jack signalling is now done in gta01kbd.c and uses the regular
SW_HEADPHONE_JACK event type. It is envisioned that our future audio control
daemon notices those events and then acts depending on policy.

putting this into phase1 since we don't have hardware for this yet

However, a driver similar to gta01bl.c can be written.
