When you use backspace or the arrow keys, the terminal prints blocks instead of
updating the input line like it should. The actual line is updated, so pressing
enter executes it like it should.
See http://daxxar.slask.no/images/backspace-block.png for an example. After
"Example: ", I entered - verbatim: 'f', 'o', 'o', <backspace>.
If you use the matchbox-keyboard (that has arrow up, down, etc) it does the
same. Getting it to redraw (using ^L, resizing terminal, etcetera) makes it show
it like it should.

After I attached something to a bug, I got the following message:

<b>Email sent to:</b> [email protected]<br> <b>Excluding:</b>
[EMAIL PROTECTED] <br><center>If you wish to tweak the kinds of mail Bugzilla
sends you, you can <a href="userprefs.cgi?tab=email">change your
preferences</a></center>

This is literal, the HTML showed entities (&gt; &lt;) instead of the brackets
(?).

The same problem is there for adding new bugs, etcetera (I guess all 'feedback'
status messages).

Summary: Invalid timeval passed to setitmer()
           Product: OpenMoko
           Version: current svn head
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: minor
          Priority: P3
         Component: gsmd
        AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
        ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
                CC: [email protected]

A system clock step (e.g. caused by NTP synchronization) can cause gsmd/timer.c
to pass a negative time interval to setitmer():

Aug 7 16:53:18 fic-gta01 daemon.info ntpd[1100]: synchronized to 192.168.0.200,
stratum 3
Aug 7 17:15:29 fic-gta01 daemon.notice ntpd[1100]: time reset +70.331006 s
Aug 7 17:15:54 fic-gta01 user.warn kernel: setitimer: gsmd (pid = 1152)
provided invalid timeval it_value: tv_sec = -69 tv_usec = 899874
Aug 7 17:15:54 fic-gta01 user.warn kernel: setitimer: gsmd (pid = 1152)
provided invalid timeval it_value: tv_sec = -69 tv_usec = 899478

There is code which anticipates this condition:
        if (tv_sub(&diff, &min, &now) < 0) {
/* FIXME: run expired timer callbacks */
/* we cannot run timers from here since we might be
                 * called from register_timer() within check_n_run() */

/* FIXME: restart with next minimum timer */
                goto retry;
        }

however tv_sub() currently has an unconditional return value of 0, so this block
will never be executed.

I haven't yet looked at the gsmd timer code in detail, but it might help in some
places to use clock_gettime(CLOCK_MONOTONIC,...) rather than gettimeofday() for
interval-related calculations.

hexdump -C /dev/input/event0

Jack insertion/removal, aux-button pressing produce events as expected.
Hold button on headset does not.

Verified by me, and two others on #openmoko.

I can't see anything clearly wrong with the kernel patches in this area.
If gpio.txt is accurate, it seems connected to the correct IO.

[This e-mail has been automatically generated.]

You have one or more bugs assigned to you in the Bugzilla
bugsystem (http://bugzilla.openmoko.org/cgi-bin/bugzilla/) that require
attention.

All of these bugs are in the NEW state, and have not been touched
in 7 days or more. You need to take a look at them, and
decide on an initial action.

Generally, this means one of three things:

(1) You decide this bug is really quick to deal with (like, it's INVALID),
and so you get rid of it immediately.
(2) You decide the bug doesn't belong to you, and you reassign it to someone
else. (Hint: if you don't know who to reassign it to, make sure that
the Component field seems reasonable, and then use the "Reassign bug to
    owner of selected component" option.)
(3) You decide the bug belongs to you, but you can't solve it this moment.
Just use the "Accept bug" command.

To get a list of all NEW bugs, you can use this URL (bookmark it if you like!):

http://bugzilla.openmoko.org/cgi-bin/bugzilla/buglist.cgi?bug_status=NEW&[EMAIL
PROTECTED]

Or, you can use the general query page, at
http://bugzilla.openmoko.org/cgi-bin/bugzilla/query.cgi.

Appended below are the individual URLs to get to all of your NEW bugs that
haven't been touched for a week or more.

You will get this message once a day until you've dealt with these bugs!
