Changing Amp Mode to Headphones works here on bv4 with 2007.2
stereoout.state by default sends to both headphones and speakers at same time
and is working here.
Can you confirm your headphones are working.

Summary: small info errors in bootloader console
Product: OpenMoko
Version: 2007.2
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: trivial
Priority: P2
Component: u-boot
AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
CC: [email protected]
When I enter some commands without arguments in the bootloader console, I got no
info about what arguments are needed in the "usage:" message:
_________________________________________________
GTA01Bv4 # md
Usage:
md - memory display
_________________________________________________
Yes, I can do "help command", but I think that would be nice if it displays some
more info, like in the fat-something commands:
_________________________________________________
GTA01Bv4 # fatls
usage: fatls <interface> <dev[:part]> [directory]
_________________________________________________
I've tested all console commands, and this are the "affected":
askenv, bmp, cmp, cp, crc32, dynenv, ext2load, ext2ls, go, icrc32, iloop, imd,
imm, loop, md, mm, nand, neo1973, nm, out, run, s3c2410, setenv, sleep, unzip

this is an upstream u-boot issue, nothing that openmoko [should] have touched.
so i'm closing this bug. pleaes reopen if you think that the openmoko patches
have broken something that has worked in mainline u-boot

------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2007-08-16 17:22 -------
Indeed, it was a problem with the headphones rather than the mixer: the last
millimeter of plugging in the headphones is somewhat firmer than otherwise, and
the jack events arrive before that.
Now, as the "Amp Mode" setting works properly, if we want headset-only and
speakers-only state files, those can be created from the stereoout.state simply
by changing the setting to "Headphones" and "Stereo Speakers" respectively.
If we don't want those files, feel free to close this bug as invalid.

Changed the platform and OS to ALL and the severity to major since it seems to
be impacting many subscribers to the list server.
Also, this problem was (and is currently being) discussed in the "Duplicate
message troubleshooting" thread on [EMAIL PROTECTED] In this
thread, Jeff Rush published the same diagnosis using the manual telnet process.

I suggest to pick some free music (creative commons and friends) from
jamendo.com or similar site and just use it :)
In this article there are some good links to other sites like jamendo.com:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_music
Some examples:
http://stream1-4.jamendo.com/1145/ogg2/01%20-%20Goof.ogg
http://stream2-3.jamendo.com/2225/ogg2/01%20-%20Invisible%20Walls.ogg
http://stream2-3.jamendo.com/2931/ogg2/06%20-%20A%20crazy%20version.ogg <- I
like it!! (Artist:King Dubby - Album:First Dubs)
Also, there is a LOT of sounds that you can use some from The Freesound Project
for use with the GUI. Some examples:
When power off the system:
http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/samplesViewSingle.php?id=3375
New message arrives:
http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/samplesViewSingle.php?id=2341
http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/samplesViewSingle.php?id=19288
Starting the system: some nature sounds:

I finally was able to get a 4GB microSDHC card from sandisk.
Correct size was found:
/dev/mmcblk0p1 3.8G 32.0k 3.8G 0% /media/card
That's the same I get with the card inside the usb reader delivered with the
card.
Coping around a 6MB file 600 times to use up most of the space showed up the
following in dmesg:
<3>s3c2410-sdi s3c2410-sdi: unfinished write - pio_count:[2048] pio_words:[0]
<3>mmcblk0: error 4 transferring data
No IO errors on the shell.

[This e-mail has been automatically generated.]
You have one or more bugs assigned to you in the Bugzilla
bugsystem (http://bugzilla.openmoko.org/cgi-bin/bugzilla/) that require
attention.
All of these bugs are in the NEW state, and have not been touched
in 7 days or more. You need to take a look at them, and
decide on an initial action.
Generally, this means one of three things:
(1) You decide this bug is really quick to deal with (like, it's INVALID),
and so you get rid of it immediately.
(2) You decide the bug doesn't belong to you, and you reassign it to someone
else. (Hint: if you don't know who to reassign it to, make sure that
the Component field seems reasonable, and then use the "Reassign bug to
owner of selected component" option.)
(3) You decide the bug belongs to you, but you can't solve it this moment.
Just use the "Accept bug" command.
To get a list of all NEW bugs, you can use this URL (bookmark it if you like!):
http://bugzilla.openmoko.org/cgi-bin/bugzilla/buglist.cgi?bug_status=NEW&[EMAIL
PROTECTED]
Or, you can use the general query page, at
http://bugzilla.openmoko.org/cgi-bin/bugzilla/query.cgi.
Appended below are the individual URLs to get to all of your NEW bugs that
haven't been touched for a week or more.
You will get this message once a day until you've dealt with these bugs!

please add to http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/Supported_microSD_cards
also, please verify the data consistency after having seen that write bug. Just
add a file compare to your test script. Also, please re-test using
signifnicantly bigger files (256MB at least) since they should exceed the RAM
size of the system to make sure they cannot be cached...
