As you mentioned it falls back to SVN, but finally it also fails.

Yes, this is something completely different and due to upstream (O-Hand, in this
case) having made some reorganizations on their svn server.
This can be fixed by bumping the SRCREV for openmoko-today2 (I guess
org.openembedded.dev has already made this, so you might as well just mtn pull
and mtn update).
Please understand that this is neither a bug in OE nor OM. Upstream is out of
our control and sometimes they do strange things to their source locations. The
best we can do is mirror the sources, but if they don't exist (as in this very
case), we can't mirror but just wait until upstream fixes it or bump revisions
and hope it has been fixed in the meantime.

fixed in 3379. requires some other changes in OE as well, you probably need
updating openmoko-session2 and removing matchbox-common.

A /etc/init.d/gsmd works for me on boot
After a lot of analysis, there are some conclusions.
1. In GTA01v3 because of uart between modem and CPU and debug uart are the
same.
a. u-boot has to remove "console=/dev/ttySAC0,115200" parameter
b. The initiate message from GSM modem will be po luted
c. Uart /dev/ttySAC0 has to be reset
2. Observing the behaviour of uart, GTA01v3 goes wrong when function "select"
called for the first open. It has to be close and reopen and so that it can
behave well
So a easy way that GSMD can initialize well is open it twice at the
/etc/init.d/gsmd start
Note. libmokogsmd shall not restart gsmd with this script. (Only do this when
gsmd is actually dead.)

I've tried attaching strace and ltrace to the running (hung) proceses, and I
receive no output.
I then hacked flash.sh to run the emulator under strace and ltrace, and that
introduced sufficiently different conditions that it is unclear if the data I
got is meaningful. It still didn't work, but it failed in different places, and
sometimes appeared to be running other than expected.
I can attach the output of the strace and ltrace runs if anyone is interested,
but it is quite large.

Summary: Suggestion: Remove Bitstream Vera fonts from the default
image
Product: OpenMoko
Version: 2007.2
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Windows XP
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: Theming
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
CC: [email protected]
The DejaVu font family is better in pretty much every way, and it too is part of
the default image, but task-openmoko-ui still depends on ttf-bitstream-vera.
Nonetheless, ttf-bitstream-vera can be removed with -force-depends, and I
haven't seen any adverse consequences of doing so. "sans" gets mapped to DejaVu
Sans instead of Bistream Vera Sans, and as a happy side-effect, the arrow keys
on the on-screen keyboard get real arrows instead of empty rectangles (bug
#999).

Summary: ipkg default feeds don't include neo1973 arch
Product: OpenMoko
Version: 2007.2
Platform: Neo1973
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: Applications & Dependencies
AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
CC: [email protected]
The following files are present in /etc/ipkg in a fresh rootfs:
arch.conf
snapshot-all-feed.conf
snapshot-armv4t-feed.conf
snapshot-fic-gta01-feed.conf
updates-all-feed.conf
updates-armv4t-feed.conf
updates-fic-gta01-feed.conf
Although arch.conf has been updated to reflect the split in machine-specific
architectures (formerly just fic-gta01, now fic-gta01 AND neo1973),
corresponding feeds have not been added. Accordingly, some neo1973-specific
packages will never be upgraded by ipkg (e.g. kernel modules, neod, etc.) in the
default case where these files remain unmodified.
We need additional default feeds:
* /etc/ipkg/snapshot-neo1973-feed.conf:
src/gz snapshot-neo1973
http://buildhost.openmoko.org/snapshots/2007.08/ipk/neo1973
* /etc/ipkg/updates-neo1973-feed.conf:
src/gz updates-neo1973
