           Summary: kdrive fails to configure
           Product: OpenMoko
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Xfbdev (kdrive), Xglamo
        AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
        ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
                CC: [email protected]

I tried to compile a OpenMoko image on my ia32 Ubuntu system. I followed the
instructions here:

http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/Getting_OpenMoko_working_on_host_with_Xephyr

The configure step for kdrive fails with:

| checking for /usr/share/sgml/X11/defs.ent... configure: error: cannot check
for file existence when cross compiling
| FATAL: oe_runconf failed
NOTE: Task failed:
/home/mkluge/openmoko/build/tmp/work/i486-angstrom-linux/xserver-kdrive-1_1.3.0.0-r25/temp/log.do_configure.15690
NOTE: package xserver-kdrive-1_1.3.0.0-r25: task do_configure: failed
ERROR: TaskFailed event exception, aborting

The defs.ent file is part of the xorg-sgml-doctools package, but it does not
help if this package is installed on the host system.

I tried to build the newest OpenMoko. Once I tried for x86 to use xephyr, then I
tried the build for arm to use qemu. Both times I got errors from kdrive. Here
the outputs of both proceses:
http://lord-of-linux.homelinux.net/2008-05-02_om-compileerror_x86.txt
http://lord-of-linux.homelinux.net/2008-05-02_om-compileerror_qemu.txt

(I hope I've written all necesary things. Maybe someone can write a Wikipage on
how to write good bug reports to help people who are new in using Bugtrackers)

Patch for xserver-kdrive-common.inc

This fixes it for me (swapping the "X11" and "sgml" components of the file
path).

[This e-mail has been automatically generated.]

You have one or more bugs assigned to you in the Bugzilla
bugsystem (http://bugzilla.openmoko.org/cgi-bin/bugzilla/) that require
attention.

All of these bugs are in the NEW state, and have not been touched
in 7 days or more. You need to take a look at them, and
decide on an initial action.

Generally, this means one of three things:

(1) You decide this bug is really quick to deal with (like, it's INVALID),
and so you get rid of it immediately.
(2) You decide the bug doesn't belong to you, and you reassign it to someone
else. (Hint: if you don't know who to reassign it to, make sure that
the Component field seems reasonable, and then use the "Reassign bug to
    owner of selected component" option.)
(3) You decide the bug belongs to you, but you can't solve it this moment.
Just use the "Accept bug" command.

To get a list of all NEW bugs, you can use this URL (bookmark it if you like!):

http://bugzilla.openmoko.org/cgi-bin/bugzilla/buglist.cgi?bug_status=NEW&[EMAIL
PROTECTED]

Or, you can use the general query page, at
http://bugzilla.openmoko.org/cgi-bin/bugzilla/query.cgi.

Appended below are the individual URLs to get to all of your NEW bugs that
haven't been touched for a week or more.

You will get this message once a day until you've dealt with these bugs!
