In the ASU Messages application, some SMS messages show up as Attachment:
application/x-qtopia-sms-1, and the phone doesn't appear to have any way
to read those. They also show the sending number as "50", so perhaps they
come from the cell carrier.
Other messages from friends look fine.
I also can't find where these attachments are stored, so I'm unable to
copy them to my desktop or otherwise open them in the terminal as a
workaround either.

Removing myself as the owner of the bug. Removing the ASU milestone as it
is used by the PM and his delegates.

Comment(by zecke):
How is this related to #1635? Could you enable logging
(/opt/Qtopia/etc/default/Trolltech/Log.conf set Enabled = 0 to Enabled =
1)? Restart X (/etc/init.d/xserver-nodm restart), make that error happen
again, take a look at the output of logread and attach the output. At
least a line starting with ATD should appear.
The slowness is another known bug... for some reason Xglamo gets really
slow...

Comment:
Closing as invalid for now as upgrading is not yet a supported use case.
For the future please:
- Do not assign people
- Do not set milestones
- Provide more information. From which version to which one did you try
to upgrade? How far away are the builds? So /usr/lib/libefret.so.0 moved
from libefreet0 to the efreet package?

Comment(by zecke):
Same procedure as with #1647. Would you mind sharing the PDU (message)
with us? If you don't please attach it to the bugtracker. On startup
Qtopia should query the SMS (AT+CMGL) and the message should get listed,
you should be able to identify it.
