Comment(by ssinger):
I built asu.dev from sources with mokomake with what I THOUGHT were up to
date from around Aug 2nd. It produced an jffs2 that for gta02 that did
not have glamo (The first time I ran mokomake I might have had the gta01
setup, but then switched it). The image name had gta02 in it though.
However many other things from that build seemed suspect (including the
old version of glamo). I've since reimaged to images from the buildhost.
Sorry to troubled you.

Comment(by alphaone):
This works pretty well for most things, good work!
Though still if I switch from one of the landscape modes (-o 1 or 3) to
upside down (-o 2) the ts input is offset again.
If I switch from the landscape modes into the other landscape mode the
display itself is offset, but ts and display are in sync.

Yup, the only calls affected by the patch are input related, so
unsurprised that display problems are unchanged. I can look at that too,
though.

Comment(by ssinger):
Also, the image
openmoko-openmoko-qtopia-x11-image-glibc-ipk--20080806-om-
gta02.rootfs.jffs2
that I downloaded did NOT have xserver-kdrive-glamo on it either. I had
to download it manually as well. If glamo is supposed to be part of the
default images than maybe you have another problem.

Comment:
Hi Holger,
I had created a patch about removing the orphan auto-installed packages,
but I cannot find a real case in our repository.
https://docs.openmoko.org/trac/attachment/ticket/1731/07_remove_orphan_depend.patch
Would you like to test this for me? If that works for you, then I will
commit the patch.
Cheers,
Tick

#1753: UTF-8 characters gets screwed up when ssh:ing

Comment(by fwendt):
Attached files (was in a bit of a hurry yesterday). Isn't defaulting to a
non-UTF-8 locale a little 20th century-ish? Gotta say I was surprised that
Freeing my communication only applied to US-ASCII languages. ;)
When ssh:ing into the FreeRunner from my laptop, I get the same behaviour.
vi spits out .. instead of any UTF-8 character.
Chaning the locale on my laptop to ISO-8859-1 doesn't help. I get one dot
(.) for each character outside US-ASCII.

on my phone with up to date software openmoko-messages segfaults on start
when there exists a contact with no name. I can reproduce that by adding a
contact leaving out the name specifying just the number.

Sorry, despite the name "System Software" allegedly means kernel and
u-boot. I move this to "distro" so the right people can see it.
