#1766: GSM Antenna Signal
-----------------------------+----------------------------------------------
Reporter: dexteruk | Owner: openmoko-kernel
Type: defect | Status: new
Priority: high | Milestone: ASU
Component: System Software | Version: GTA02v1
Severity: critical | Keywords: GSM Antenna Signal
Blocking: | Blockedby:
-----------------------------+----------------------------------------------
Version : 200808081625
The signal indicator shows there is no signal with * and one bar. When
trying to make calls you get the following message.
No phone call is possible. Responds GSM Phone is not registering. No
Network.
However i can receive calls with no problems but unable to receive SMS
messages. In version 20080806 it would take a min or so to set-up the
phone correctly but i could make and receive calls.

Using the Qtopia phonenetworks i checked the Current Status it shows the
operator but the Registration Status = Not Registered. But still the
phone is receiving calls.

Every so often when using the 2008.8 image I get an Enlightenment window
pop up with the title "Enlightenment Error" and the text:
This is very bad. Enlightenment SIGABRT'd.
And the option to recover (which restarts X) or exit (which quits X).
I can't seem to find a pattern that triggers it reliably.

Since flashing to the 2008.8 image my Freerunner has not been able to
detect the MicroSD card. There is an entry for it in fstab but the device
doesn't show up in /dev.

Reporter: forestmountain | Owner: openmoko-devel

Component: unknown | Version: OM-2008.08
Severity: major | Keywords: keypad numbers uppercase letters

----------------------------+-----------------------------------------------
When keypad is shown only a-z is available. There's no way to enter
numbers, uppercase letters, there's no Enter, Delete or Backspace keys.
This makes it difficult to e.g.enter SIM PIN-numbers.

I confirm this error using GSM-Provider "E-Plus" in Germany - the pin
dialog never showed up.
