* component: System Software => Qtopia
Comment:
Qtopia does ask for the encoding of the modem (AT+CSCS?) but is never
setting it. I have to take a look at what happens when we force
unicode...(this means you can save less characters in the name...)

I tested with the latest kernel: no improvements

#1853: Enhancement: improve dropbear security by listening only on usb0 by

Letting ssh listen on 0.0.0.0:22 may be hazardous if you connect to wifi
links, and seldom will you need to access dropbear from wifi unless you
know what you're doing.
If you know what you're doing, you can easily change dropbear to go back
to an insecure default.
A clever usage of awk in the init script will dynamically fetch usb0's
address thus reducing the risk of the default.

This will probably also save a tiny amount of battery by reducing the
interfaces it has to poll.

#1854: Xserver insecurely listens for TCP

Xserver listens for TCP on port 6000 by default. If you really want to
have that, you can change from a secure default into a less secure
default.
However, the default should not be to listen to anything at all since that
is an attack vector which can be used to crack an OpenMoko.
The solution is simple, just add {{{-nolisten tcp}}} to the Xserver's
flags

Since it no longer polls on the TCP port, it also reduces a tiny amount of
battery usage.
Every watt counts!

Comment(by andy):
There's a major rewrite of some stuff coming in the next day or so around
this after Sean McNeil reported a suspicion about what affected it. But I
couldn't really make a story about how this wrong stuff being fixed in
that actually made the symptom if all you were doing is sitting there
reading the input events. Anyway it is worth trying again when these
changes go in.
