Hi, I just went out and purchased a O2 SIM pre-pay.

Using qtopia-x11 it registers to the network and I can make/receive calls
 fine.

Isn't there a way to call the configuration application from the terminal?

 summary:
The tag saved at wrong place while moving

 Steps+current results:
 1) launch location and get GPS fix
 2) let the device moving (jump into a car or walking)
 3) try to save a tag while moving
 4) "Touch Me" at place A,typing tag also moving. Save the tag at place B,
the tag won't log the place as A but B.
 5) It will have a very big gap if you're moving fast but typing slow....

 Expected:
save the location when you click the red spot, not when you press "Save"

Comment(by raster):

no :( e was designed so it always had a gui way to rescue you. if you can
change it in the gui. but e for asu has basically had that bit removed.
the problem is the config panel is not a core e function - it is a
function that is provided by a module - illume provides a replacement for
the default e one. so i could add it - but it really is not intended to
work that way. check in fso space for updates/changes here (think of it
this way - if you removed the preferences menu from gimp... in a .rc file
 - and then wondered why u couldnt access the preferences option to re-
enable it in the gui? :) u can get it back - u just have to fille with
configs. config are binary - they can be decompiled to text and recompiled
(eet the tool does that), but its easier just to have a set of system
profiels that expose these and flip to them).

Comment:

from the attached log file, it looks like we have problem on retrieving
 all messages.
in the beginning, the modem works just fine, but after send this AT
command 'AT+CGML=4', it goes to crazy and returns different cme error
codes. I guess it probably stores a lot of SMS message in this SIM card.

 23:50:58 om-gta02 user.notice root: AtChat : T : "AT+CMGL=4"
 Aug 25 23:50:58 om-gta02 user.notice root: AtChat : F : "+CMS ERROR: 320"

my suggestion is to modify this AT command, if it makes modem go crazy. We
could separate it to 4 commands. Like 'AT+CMGL=0', 'AT+CMGL=1',
 'AT+CMGL=2', and 'AT+CMGL=3'.

 from 3GPP spec TS 27.005:
0 "REC UNREAD" received unread message (i.e. new message)
1 "REC READ" received read message
2 "STO UNSENT" stored unsent message (only applicable to SMs)
3 "STO SENT" stored sent message (only applicable to SMs)
4 "ALL" all messages (only applicable to +CMGL command)

also, we would need testing team helps to verify this bug again, since the
subject is about the dialer, not messaging. also, please try to use a SIM
card with lots of SIM SMS inside.

#1945: om2008.8: Sometimes I can't call my FreeRunner when it is in suspend
(with
logread/x.log/dmesg)
---------------------+------------------------------------------------------
 Reporter: dolfje | Owner: julian_chu
     Type: defect | Status: new

---------------------+------------------------------------------------------
If I put suspend mode on on the om 2008.8 distro, I (and others) sometimes
 can't call my FreeRunner.

 Steps for reproduce:
 1. put the software to suspend in 10sec
 2. Call my FreeRunner
 3. if it succeed, leave it alone and let it suspend again
 4. wait for a couple minutes (sometimes 2 min, sometimes 30 min)
 5. goto step 2

 Expected result:
 - You should be able to keep on calling the FreeRunner.

 Actual result:
 - The last time I called, it didn't resume on calling (around 10h03 ) and
I get the voice mail on the other phone. I hang up and my FreeRunner wakes
up and says I've missed a phone call.

 u-boot: 1.3.2-moko12

 kernel:

http://downloads.openmoko.org/releases/Om2008.8-update/Om2008.8-gta02-20080826.uImage.bin
 rootfs:

http://downloads.openmoko.org/releases/Om2008.8-update/Om2008.8-gta02-20080830.rootfs.jffs2

dmesg, logread and x.log attached. (ps. The problem is around 10h03, then
I've called it and it didn't resume)

reproducible: always, but sometimes it takes longer before it don't resume
 on phone-call.

Comment(by flamma):

I have noticed today that when I stop the xserver, I can see in the phone
screen, in the console, a lot of messages like "xset: cannot open
display", or similar (now my screen doesn't turn on). I don't know if that
is related. This time several wake up didn't brought up the black screen,
but the desktop. Also don't know if that has relationship.
