Can I propose you close this bug then and re-open it if it happens on
another card?

#2021: /etc/init.d/dropbear restart doesn't work
-------------------------------------------+--------------------------------
Reporter: alih | Owner: julian_chu
Type: defect | Status: new
Priority: normal | Milestone:
Component: Distro | Version: Om2008.9-dev
Severity: blocker | Resolution:
Keywords: dropbear restart, HasPatch | Blockedby:
Reproducible: | Blocking:
-------------------------------------------+--------------------------------
Comment(by alih):
Huh, that's weird. For me, stop leads to start-stop-daemon and doesn't
work:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# start-stop-daemon -K -x dropbear
no dropbear found; none killed
That's because of this:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# ls -lh /proc/1279/exe
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 0 Sep 23 00:14 /proc/1279/exe
-> /usr/sbin/dropbearmulti
Busybox searches for dropbear in /proc/*/exe, but there's only
dropbearmulti.
Am I right to assume that if I have the latest daily snapshot of Om2008.8,
I can count it as Om2008.9? (because I didn't reflash to Om2008.9)
Are you running the commands on an actual device? I'm asking because it
should have thrown your shell out upon stopping dropbear.

Sounds good to me... except I don't seem to have the ability to close it.
The only action available to me is "leave as new".

Huh, sorry about that, I closed it as invalid, although as usual that
doesn't quite capture the situation.

Thanks for the kind words :-) BTW, I've passed this on to our hw team in
case they've ever seen this kind of problem. (It's the first time I hear
of a jack switch failing. Of course, we'd all be very disappointed in
Murphy if he had let that opportunity pass ...)

Re-opening since there was some obvious miscommunication.
My mail to Michael was elusively used out of context. Read the message:
'there is a fix lying around' << i do not know where it is or heard of
any sort of confirmation yet.
Graeme/Holger, any clues?
