Comment(by andy):
You might like to try a later kernel, that one is from ~23 Aug.
Since getting a packaged kernel is a bit uncertain at the moment somehow,
here is a "moredrivers" kernel image (no modules) from today to try:

Comment(by octavsly):
After 4 hours the screen is still blank (also no light behind the screen)
and the red AUX led is on. The display and the phone itself is quite warm
(> 37degree Celsius).
Power button has no effect. However I can ssh the phone. Output of logread
is attached (logread_o.txt).

#1597: after a long suspend time, kernel thread events/0 sits eating 30% cpu

Comment(by lala):
Using Om2008.8-update I can reproduce this in 8-12 hours, without
suspending, wifi or accelerometers. Only with 1-2 gps activations and 1-2
phone calls. Most of the time the phone is connected to my desktop/usb.
When this "plague" happens, even if I kill all the processes (xserver,
hald, ompower, gsm0710muxd, dbus-daemon, ... all) it still eat around 30%
from proc.

Replying to [comment:25 andy]:
Hi Andy,
Great to know that this issue is being worked on. Guess it was fairly
invisible to me as to what was being done.
For others wanting to know what's being done, have a look at.
http://docs.openmoko.org/trac/gitweb?p=kernel.git;a=shortlog;h=andy-
tracking
Questions that's been on my mind.
Is the current opinion of the openmoko developers that this problem is
fixable in software? it sounds like a yes from your last comments, but I
am not sure.
Is a fix likely within a month or two?

Comment(by werner):
From reading the code, I'd say that the ar6000_ioctl_giwscan message means
that no access points were found and SIOCGIWSCAN returned EAGAIN, which is
arguably the wrong return code.
I don't know if not finding any access points is cause or effect, though.
Does my ar6k-giwscan-no-eagain.patch ease the pain ?
