Comment(by Zogg):

 After some time, events/0 stops eating CPU in the same mystical fashion it
 started. Timespan was too wide to notice when did that happen, or what
 made it stop (2008.9 stable, with latest updates).

Comment:

 Okay. I know why this happens and "sometimes" is actually always. The
 Qtopia version you have installed relies on someone to execute
 /opt/Qtopia/bin/qpredictivekeyboard but no one is doing that.
 The testing feed should contain Qtopia packages
 09335e76e1762b97dad23b997978424ed10f8da1 for quite some time (but somehow
 does not) which includes

 Please opkg upgrade your device.

Comment(by Treviño):

 As said in ML I've finished the patch that enables the echo modem
 suppression on dialing and on replying only for the TI Calypso device.
 I've used the at commands suggested by Micheal Lauer.

 The qtopia-enable-echo-suppression-on-dialing-and-accepting.patch look
 good to me.
 It's on the git now.

 I've reworked a little that patch adding a small class, called

Comment(by Treviño):

 Hello, I've tried to improve the management of this issue with the patch
 above. Since all the times I got this crash I was able to recover my phone
 simply restarting the GSM interface with:
 {{{
 killall qpe
 echo 0 > /sys/devices/platform/neo1973-pm-gsm.0/power_on
 echo 1 > /sys/devices/platform/neo1973-pm-gsm.0/power_on
 qpe
 }}}
 I've tried to get the same from the modem plugin. Now qtopia should
 restart the gsm interface and then reconfigure the plugin as on first run.

 Unfortunately I couldn't try this (since fortunately I had no crash in the
 past days :D), but I hope it will work.
