I've not checked the latest icons in 2008.09 testing (since no icons are
currently shown due to another bug :) - but do we not also need new icons
for contacts, locations, messages, etc.? The current "icons" are not
really iconic representations of anything ...

For the future please read the
http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/Bug_Filing_Policy. It is pretty clear to
what not to set (Milestone) and what to attach (list of installed
packages)...
And it looks like a duplicate of #2038, #2029 but due the lack of the
required documents I can not tell....

I've just improved the icons for most of the FDOM applications. The
default applications need indeed new icons. But in the different icon sets
like openmoko-standards (and others like tango) are plenty of suitable
icons. I would suggest to use 80x80 pixel versions of the 128x128 pixel
icons in /usr/share/icons/openmoko-standards/
Who is the lead in this regarding default look and feel?

well, this was submitted for the zhone. and I wanted to submit this also
for qtopia, because it does not support it. I'll try to submit new defects
(if I'd find any with more care about the bug filling policy)

I think a simple version bump as you suggest would make sense. From the
Git history it looks like GTK was only upgraded as a routine jump up to
the latest version, so another jump would hardly be a problem.
Particularly considering how difficult this problem would be to debug
otherwise...

The GPS driver for the GTA-01 hardware is distributed using a .ipk file
format but the FSO distribution is using the new opkg command, making it
impossible to install the package obtained from the website:
