Ok, all fixed. nntpfwd was not running sendmail with the correct
arguments and sendmail was getting confused about '.'s on lines by
themselves. This only reared its ugly head now because the posting
Jan made was very large, so nntpfwd actually got a SIGPIPE before it
finished write()ing.
