Hi,

Does anybody had some success with CUPS, using the parallel backend on
/dev/lpt0? Mine is stalled and I could'nt get it to work, no mather what.

I'm getting "Printing page 1, 11%", with this remaining indefinitly on:

lp 62249 0.0 2.6 30576 13264 ?? IL 10:45AM 0:00.49
/usr/pkg/bin/gs -dQUIET -dDEBUG -dPARANOIDSAFER -dNOPAUSE -dBATCH
-dNOMEDIAATTRS -sDEVICE=cups -sstdout=%stderr -sOUTPUTFILE=%stdout -c -f
-_ (gsc)
lp 62250 0.0 1.5 12840 7968 ?? IL 10:45AM 0:00.53
impgal01 50 srussell Test Page 1
job-uuid=urn:uuid:90ecdc12-78ef-3231-7b74-cbf84c13340b (rastertogutenpri)
lp 62251 0.0 0.4 4544 2176 ?? IL 10:45AM 0:00.01
parallel:/dev/lpt0 50 srussell Test Page 1
job-uuid=urn:uuid:90ecdc12-78ef-3231-7b74-cbf84c13340b (parallel)

I posted this on the CUPS forum, but I suspect that this is specific to
DFBSD. It looks like libexec/parallel is stalled waiting in a select
call, but I'm not sure yet. I've been working hours on this one.

If anyone have some information that could help. I can use lpd, but I
appreciate the fact that CUPS can be manage from a web page. This is
more intuitive for ordinary users when something goes wrong than opening
a telnet and using lpq and lprm commands.

Thanks for any help.

SR
