It would be very nice if > you could give it a try and let me know the results. Hi, I tried out 2.2.1, and I'm now seeing the kind of connection growth I expected. I slowly increased the concurrent requests (from the original *1* thread I was using in the tests I originally posted about), to tens of threads, without seeing an undue increase in the number of used connections. I note that Tomcat does still eventually reach 200 active threads when I hit it Apache with many requests, but it appears as though Apache is now reusing existing connections. >From this first pass, it looks to me like 2.2.1 fixes the problem I was having.
