That's exactly the point of the CheckCaseOnly directive. It lets you use only
the case-correction part of mod_speling. You do indeed need to have
CheckSpelling On, but the CheckCaseOnly directive limits its application to
only that one feature.
(And by the way, the claim that doing only case checking is less
resource-intensive than the full mod_speling treatment is really not correct.)
