The hang occurs when trying to call into the pxe code:

        pxe_call(PXENV_GET_CACHED_INFO);

The boot loader has decided that the entry point is seg 0x0 offset 0x100.
It seems unlikely that this is a correct address.

So, the code is just doing a downward search and stops at the first valid
cksum. If I modify the memory scan to continue after the first match, it
finds several structures that have valid checksums:

PXENV+ 0x93752, 0x89110
!PXE   0x936f2, 0x890b0

plus some more with bad cksums.

After discovering http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.os.netbsd.current/66067
which appears to be the same problem, I tried booting pxelinux which
identified a different entry point with "plan A", 8904:0100.

Forcing seg 0x8904 in our pxeboot allows it to boot. Also, looking at the
second !PXE structure, this is the entry point used there. (The second
PXENV+ has 8904:0000).

Linux plan A is :

There's a diff (provided as untested) in the netbsd mail. Applied to our code
(http://junkpile.org/pxe-nbp,diff1) it doesn't find a valid checksum, but
I'm unsure whether the diff is just wrong or whether it's looking in the
wrong place.

Can anyone help with an equivalent of Linux's GET_PTR(InitStack)?

Terrible workaround: force bangpxe_seg = 0x8904.

commit, but at least it won't break every other machine:
