I suspect the problem is happening somewhere in these steps which unfortunately you're not showing in detail: > * add a RAID partition that takes up the whole disk > * create a crypto volume using a keydisk What did you actually do there? Did you run fdisk -iy sd2 ? What does the disklabel of sd2 look like?
