I found this issue affects athn and even an OpenBSD access point as well and so
I am a little perplexed as I had planned to see if reverting commits improved
things as I never used to have any issue on the same hardware. Again, on the
athn I couldn't connect with many attempts until shortly after I used -joinlist
so perhaps there is something in that code path (reset) that helps or shared
with switching from 5g to 2.4g, fixes do not seem to be reliable and so maybe
still just coincidences.

I shall get an athn debug log, remove all nwflags (nobridge, stayauth)
permanently and try to get a better idea of what is going on over time. I am
thinking of trying 6.6 and 6.5 stable now?
