Hi Jean-François,

AMD released their 64 bit extensions with the FX series back in 2005(?), which Intel later adopted.

Intel had their own 64 bit architecture with itanium, which could run 32 bit i386 Software, but that was, iirc, emulation.

   Hi,

Does someone have hints on this issue please ?
The type of server is a Levono Thinkstation P720 fit with Intel
Silver Xeon Silver 4110 processor. I installed the i386 OpenBSD 6.8.
I can have a shell from finishing the install process, this
       works. It
doesn't boot in single user mode, but can boot with boot -c option
       into user kernel configuration.

this CPU has 64 bit support, please test amd64 OpenBSD 6.9 instead of
   i386 and report back.
