Unfortunatly the G5 doesnt accept any input after this crash from keyboard. :(
Is there another way to do a trace?

Ill might try OpenBSD snapshot though.

BTW: No other OS be it Linux/FreeBSD manages to initializes this card properly so I guess the error remains in newer ports also.

It is hard to guess at what is going on without a trace.

after 6.9 the drm code was replaced by a new port you should try
a snapshot.
