This is another device that wants SOF isn't it? Pretty common for modern laptop "microphones" (usually actually arrays of MEMS microphones with various signal-processing tricks). Simplest workaround is probably uaudio(4) and an external mic, or maybe one of the uaudio Bluetooth audio devices (Creative BT-W2, BT-W3, etc) and a Bluetooth headset.
